The Spanish Mansion located north of Shattuck was built by O.E. Enfield in the 1930s with the help of his sons. At the time, O.E. and his family lived southeast of the building site in another home he had constructed. Pony Creek separated the two homes and it was from the creek that rock, sand, and water were hauled to erect the two-story structure seen in the photos.

It's been empty for some time, aside from teens drinking or trying to scare their dates.

Here's a few shots I got this evening.

Western Wall

MainRoom Top Floor

The Halfass Balcony

Stairs to Bottom Floor

This Bud's for You

Mouse, the Current Resident

Front Porch Chair

Signed, Sealed, Delivered

I have a few more pics if you would like to see them message me.

Nice find and good story. Seems like it was never finished.

Ya know, I don't know if it was or not. All I've found is about the history of building it, not them living in it or anyone ever buying it or anything. So truthfully I can't tell ya, but from what I saw, it doesn't seem that it was finished.

The Spanish Mansion actually was finished. My granddad built it. My dad and mom and oldest brother lived in the house from about 1947-1950 on the upper level. An aunt and uncle lived on the ground floor. However, I don't believe anyone has lived in the house since my family moved out about 65 years ago.
