I don't know if you guys saw this story but it looks like it was published in a few local sources. I saw it first in the North Texas UE facebook group. This is the kind of dumbassery that screws things up for the rest of us and paints a super negative picture in the media. Also probably more evidence that the Baker is a lost cause. Disappointing, I never got to see the inside.

This is no different then what goes on in the n.t.e.g.. count less times I've seen members of that group post who, when and where they are exploring. This is also nothing new for the baker, People are arrested there all the time.

Its seems that some people forget that trespassing is illegal and that you are committing a crime when doing so....

High profile arrest? She's just a normal person like everybody on here. A high profile arrest would be catching Obama or Dick Chaney in there. This hobby already has had tons of media about exploring and really can't get any worse. It's already blown up from what it was 10 years ago. And no, the thing that screws everything up, is the amount of people finding out about a place. The only thing that north Texas group posts about, is the baker.

High profile arrest?

it was in a story on the front page - that's why it is considered high profile(ish) not because of who was arrested.

Yeah like Insulinguy said I meant the media coverage, not that anyone cared about the individual caught.

Ha-Ha! That is very true. The person who runs that group blocked my friend and I for saying that on a post about The Baker. Just before we got kicked out, somebody was trying to swap location info for not 1, but TWO (2) abandoned taco restaurants.
Yeah...

Jesus... I haven't actually paid attention to much of what goes on in that group. That's stupid as hell.

I saw a lot of crying from members in there. I think that's why you and your friend got kicked out. They couldn't handle the heat about the awesome locations they were posting.

I've heard other stories about explorers getting in trouble, because someone sends a photo to the authorities. Presumably, this was done by other "explorers." What makes people do crap like that?

Honestly, I think somewhere (I am currently too lazy to hunt this down for authenticity)it says that one cannot actually be prosecuted for trespassing if they were never actually caught there. The photos could always claim "These were photoshopped" or something of the like, calling them photos manipulation. I've always known the law here to be that if a cop catches you coming out of a building, they can't do anything at that point because they caught you outside of it. I am sure this can be bent in all sorts of ways, but I always understood the trespassing laws in Texas to be that they can't successfully convict you of a crime without any sort of witness to it.

Fuck snitches. Probably some rival explorer or an ex-boyfriend or something. I'm always worried this could happen to me too.

Damnnnn I really wanted explore this sometime down the road. Of course, me not posting shit on online social media is probably a plus. Still i hope to devise a plan to get in before its remodeled, destroyed, or completely camped out. And these people do not make it any easier.

She strikes me as someone who is exploring for all the wrong reasons. Do it for the rush, sweetie, not for social media fodder.

Isn't there some unwritten UE code against tweeting during an explore?
