Be careful in mineshafts out in the valley. Coal mines do not have the stability that hardrock gold does, and the geology out that way especially is prone to collapse.

Not to worry I don't go in the mine shafts. Mostly just the old buildings

Great Photos Ackbad! I reconize about all the areas! I love the valley. Some great areas. The No7 And No8 Puntledge area coal mines are a great place.

I also cannot reconsize photo 4, top row far right. Is that out at the lake?

#3 looks enticing (not that I'd go in... ); #6 looks like part of the LOTR movie set.

Hey thanks. I like the number 7and 8 areas to. The photo is of some old building just on the outskirts of Cumberland not to close to the lake

We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained we must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be by the better angels of our nature.

Some historical ones from the Cumberland Museum online collection. I'm waiting for some rainy days to go through the pictures I took of the area today. Those days are coming, so until then...
