when you arrive, depending on when, you will either see a skinny white kid and a large Russian man or a small group of people who look ready to climb buildings. Either way it should be easy to figure out who you're looking for.

So, for elevator surfing and access and what not, what kind of physical requirement will there be? Since I have some injuries and nerve damage, I am not one to pull myself from the floor up to the top of a elevator using arm strength.. What conditions should we expect for this little adventure?

Might be good to outline this stuff for potential guests.

No physical strength is required. Also, this thread is public, and this information should probably not be discussed here at this time.

do you have difficulty entering a normal elevator? just so everyone knows, surfing feels no different than normally riding the elevator...

also just so we're clear i have no intention of taking you guys anywhere outside of my comfort zone, i want no surprises and no trouble. so that being said you can safely assume that the most dangerous obstacles you will be facing are stairs, and perhaps a door.

Simple enough, thanks. I know in my early days exploring, jumping a wall or navigating a 2 story house with a collapsed staircase wasn't an issue, these days, not so much. lol. Sorry, wasn't trying to be too specific about things.

I should be in attendance.

I missed the planning discussion, but got an automated email notification about the gathering a minute ago from the forum. No conflicting plans, so methinks I'll show up too.

Unfortunately, I threw it out there as a idea for a meet up. But I am swamped with life, so luckily Crypton and Se7eN stepped up and took charge of this.

Thanks again guys.

I'll be the big guy with a Red backpack if I can make it.

Hi folks, I'm so glad to see people starting a meet up out in Seattle. Our SP.E.C.T.R.E. group based down in Atlanta Ga has been doing this for some time now. It took about a year for it to truly take hold but now we are doing events on a regular basis with 20+ showing up. Its an excellent way to meet and greet and organize with new people, community building at its best. I hope people take this and run with it, its been good to us. Normally we have the event and than someone starts a thread so that everyone can post pics.

Some of our previous events down in the Southeast Section for your viewing pleasure......

It was great meeting some of you and experiencing a whole new side of UE. So thanks for putting this on! Once again for those of you who still shoot film and want to use my darkroom please let me know. All I ask is for a small contribution for supplies lest they go to waste; I hardly get to develop and print as often as I'd like.

Good meet up yesterday. Nice to meet everyone.

There was some talk of the other plant and gaining access again. If anyone has some contacts or departments to talk too, I'm happy to see about getting access again for the group. I'm closer to the area and I can drive over to meet on site with any contacts and make arrangements. Feel free to PM me.

Please keep in mind that this thread is public and location names should be censored. That being said we saw a few roofs, played with some elevators, heard about the cops showing up too late, in true spd form.

Shortly before those of us who were left parted way we decided that the first saturday of every month is the proper day to meet up regularly. Unfortunately the next one wont be on the first saturday due to scheduling conflicts, so the next meetup will be the 9th of march once again at 5pm.

this event did last until approximately 10:30 pm, so a solid 5 hours of exploring. After that we went and got food and tried, unsuccessfully, to infiltrate the building above the resturant. It was great fun and i hope to see you all next time.

A good time and successful gathering indeed. We had a big group and a bold agenda. Thanks to everyone who contributed their knowledge and experience.

The fog made for some crazy views and the various buildings and infrastructure we got to check out was fascinating. I got tons of lovely pictures, although I'm not yet sure how many of them I want to share publicly.

I volunteered to try and put together an event with a ghost town / abandoned mines theme in the spring (perhaps May I think I said). There was also talk of gathering out across the Sound as well. Methinks this was just the first of many adventures to come.

Hey everyone, I made a set on flickr with the photos from the meetup. Feel free to steal them/tag yourselves in them. I definitely had a lot of fun that night and hope to do it again.

Awesome shots. As a non-photographer, I'm glad somebody documented the outing.

Special thanks to everyone who attended for sharing their knowledge and experiences, the meetup was great fun, and I'm hoping to be there for the next one as well.
