| | | Pics from a recent Bay Area UE meetup. This is the 16st Train Station in Oakland. It opened in 1912 and closed shortly after the 1989 Earthquake.1.

| | | Fantastic location, even if slightly OT for the Pacific Northwest forum. ;) Apparently, it's actively undergoing restoration. Did you encounter any signs of that inside? Looks like they've repaired the broken windows, at least. I love the large (presumably dead) plants inside the main hall. [last edit 12/23/2012 6:05 PM by MoleNet94 - edited 1 times]

| | | What an incredibly beautiful place! There are countless possibilities for what a building like this could be preserved into. I hope somebody scoops this up and does just that because it'd be horrible to see it go to waste.

I spoke too soon; apparently a restoration project is underway. It'll be a great thing once it's done. But since it's quite a massive undertaking, it'll be a while before it's done. http://www.16thstreetstation.com
