the mega metropolis that is Lynnwood

Although not super pleased with the photos I came out of here with, I had fun running through totally exposed fields, ducking behind trees, walking right by and even waving to security.......twice....(note to self: do more exploring on the way home from work, in business attire), ripping and ruining said business attire.....and finally seeing these half-demolished buildings. This explore (though I didn't push it as far as I thought I'd be able to) reminded me that sometimes it is not about the photos so much as it is about the actual adventure itself.

Woah they're tearing it down!? I walked by this everday on my way to edmonds CC. Guess there won't be another Kiss FM haunted house here. I saw them using it as a firefighter training facility back in june. Lynnwood is very quick at demolishing abandonments.

Yep - no more haunted house...lol. I haven't found anything of great interest in this area so far, have you..? I always think it's funny tearing down one strip mall to build yet another....but I was really curious as to why they seem to be demolishing everything except the one little cute building in the middle part of the lot. I was really hoping to get IN that building, but it wasn't in the cards this time.

The tiny building next to the empty lot that was bimbos or whatever its called was used as a real estate office well after that area was abandoned and only very recently the office moved.. Maybe they will move the building and reuse it.. It kinda looks mobile. I've seen it done a few times in this area with buildings like that. The billiards hall out front is vacant too. But has a huge window infront and you can see the whole interior of the building without going inside so its not really worth it..

I'm tellin you theres nothing in lynnwood that is interesting. They are too quick to demolish buildings around here and it never really developed into much of a city more of a ghetto suburb.

At one time... I saw "Stand by Me" there in the 6th grade. I think they closed it about 2 years after and turned it into a collection site for donations for a while.

aaah okay...real estate....boring..but now the mystery is solved for me.

when i drove by this morning (9/26/12), the entire lot (including the billiards place and the little building) has been totally razed.
