Superconducting Super Collider (SSC)
< on 4/22/2012 6:52 PM >

I came across this earlier today in a academic article, which made vague reference to the plant. After doing some research I though it would be worth sharing.

"Construction of an underground shaft for the Superconducting Super Collider in Texas. The SSC was supposed to be the largest particle accelerator in the world, but its funding was canceled by Congress in 1993."

It appears to have just been sold recently to a chemical company Mangnablend, but residents in the area are in protest.

I am familiar with this place, actually. My grandmother was telling me about it a few months back. She didn't know exactly what it was or what it was called but I came to the conclusion that this is what she was talking about. She really wants me to get in an get photos of it though.

Ok newbie, There are lots of threads on this place. Some discussions are publicly viewable. Most are full member status only. Do a search and you will find some info, a lot more sarcasism. (I once was in your shoes) Get some explorations under your belt, post pics and discuss, then maybe soon you can see the big boy (and girl) pics.

I'll bet Texas Mike has been there done that and knew about this place years ago, even before it was built!

And hes been holding out information like this from us all that time.

(credit goes to bklonghorn though for actually discovering it though since he posted it here first and offered free help getting in and such then unveiled the secret of the "special water district" and those vents according to him this place is going collapse and sink into the ground swallowing up all the homes and horse ranches for a 3mi radius)

Hmm, the Colorado Gov Barn of Doom, the Tx Supercollider site and then onto the Florida door.

Smells like secret FEMA stuff to me. Have we found anything strange out West that is past the barn that could be the final west coast stopping point?

Researching this location is actually what brought me to UER, strangely enough.

Last reports I read say that the tunnels are all flooded.

I believe so, seen something about a freeway on/off ramp in Los Angeles. Little odd rooms built into/under some freeway. I bet its all connected.

Rule #1, you do NOT talk about the situation room....

I am not too sure about the construction of these tunnels, but if the are concrete the will eventually fill with water if left unattended. My dad took a bunch of pics of some long abandoned missile silos all over the US, and they /almost all have lakes inside 20 to 40 feet deep from nothing more than ground water seeping through the concrete (blast doors are sealed and intact)

If they are filled almost completely with water, I don't think much collapsing and swallowing will happen... I could be wrong though.
