This may not be our region, but I was visiting home (NJ) this past week and wanted to share the spoils with explorers from my new home. Enjoy!

I could never climb the rope in high school. NOW WHO'S A BIG MAN?!

<---- Extreme jealousy. I kinda wish we had such amazing things on this side of the country. But I guess we have advantages over here.

Yeah I dunno if I'm just not active on the board enough or you guys don't like me (obviously kidding), but I've had quite some difficulty getting in with the Seattle crowd and locations. I started in Minneapolis and have done a ton on the east coast. In spite of the dopeness of locations, people are pretty open and inclusive elsewhere. Hopefully I can prove myself over time and start getting some invites because I've seen some good pics up here and I'm willing to travel to keep my hobby up in my present day home.

No one dislikes you man. It's just different here. I used to explore in the mid-west, and it was chill. You'd find a place, then walk in. Here, we've got security guards, site workers, cameras, motion detectors, all kinds of shit...
So it's easier to get caught, easier to burn locations, and people aren't going to be so open with their favorite spots.

My advice: don't wait for anyone to invite you to UE. Go out and do something cool. Many people here don't want to be tour guides, but explorers. If someone new asked me to show them a certain mill, I'd say no. Because if I had to see it one more time, I'd probably fling myself off the top in boredom. First time I saw it though, I followed a rumor, found a big empty place, and it was awesome. And that's pretty much what exploring is.

Yeah, I'm pretty cautious myself as well. Really can't risk another arrest and so I choose which locations and people I want to explore with. Tend to try and keep the groups very small with known individuals or just solo explores. It's not you, it's just that cops here tend to give way too much of a shit over things that most wouldn't in other parts of the country.

Yeah it didn't take me long to find and explore the half dozen spots that everyone knows about, I guess I'll just have to accept that UER out here isn't like the other areas I've lived. I think a big part of it too is that this is a relatively young area of the country and the poorer areas are nothing like the poverty on the east coast. When I go back east to NY and Philly those places have existed for like 300 years and many of the buildings I explore are at least 100 years old. With that kind of historical value, buildings are just less likely to get knocked down. And then in the poorer areas, they just can't afford to do anything except let them rot.

Nice pics! I would love to visit out that way and do some exploring. There is not much of that here, for sure

Don't let it keep you down from exploring here... there's stuff, just not much. I tend to keep to myself exploring (actually, my daughter goes with me), though I would love to attend the next meetup (whenever that is).

Dweller in the realm of all possibilities...

This comes up a lot. To anyone wishing to contact an official member of the UER social events committee, please find the nearest mirror. Then let us know what is decided.

Looks like you had fun in my old backyard. I moved here from Philly July 2010. I lived about 10 blocks from the Divine Lorraine. I do miss all places at times.

Scrappers. Not even a year ago the auditorium was full. It doesn't take much time for the crackheads and junkies to find new resources to support their habits.
