The World Abandoned
| | Re: Respirators - do you use them? <Reply # 41 on 1/31/2012 3:45 AM >
| | | I just ordered mine, since my sites are set on an abandoned asylum that has an incredibly high asbestos risk. I figured I might as well have it for all the other places I'll go in the future. I told myself I could buy myself a present if I scored a promotion I was after, and my respirator was that present. My friend tells me I'm not a normal girl.

| | | Definitely no. I just saw a commercial for asbestos lawyers. If you get a disease from asylums. You could Sue like at least 4 states.

| | | Have one, don't always use it though, especially if there is excellent ventilation. It's better to be safe then sorry though. Beats coming home and being sick, which I've experienced.

| | | I've got one that I bring along if it looks fishy. They're only like $30 or so, and not that big a deal, so it hardly seems worth the risk to save a little money

Mine was $30 too. I was told the filters are what really matters. So I went all out and spent $14 on those.

| | | Better be more worried about where you are putting your feet. Respirators might make you feel safer, but your biggest risk is not what you breathe but what's around you that you might not be aware of. This includes people. Unhindered vision (looking down is important), and as little as possible in distractions and dead weight is safer.
Your security measures were inadequate. How unfortunate for you. |
