Nice shot man, I wish most aircraft museums weren't forced to be so compact so it would open up for better photos.

That there is an L-39, I would love to get my hands on one, they are one of the largest privately owned military jets. You can pic them up fairly cheap (as far as a military fighter goes for lol ). This is the same type of jet that I posted these crash site photos for.. http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=96443

Thanks, the photo was taken at the Hiller air museum. It is a bit tight in there but they have a great assortment of aircraft and other funky stuff. I took that pic right after I acquired my wide angle and I cant think of a better place to use it.

I like Hiller. Pretty cool museum.

There's also a good, smaller, air museum in San Martin that I volunteer at. Should check it out sometime.

We've been super busy and still haven't finished editing our photos from our Birth-o-Ween exploration weekend down south. We will create a thread eventually... for now a few that I have finished editing.

Yup! 33 thru Kern County. Looks like it starts near the 101, thru Ojai, and Lockwood valley, and on up thru your neck of the woods. Looks like it is about 300 miles in length.

Ill PM you tomorrow when I have some time, If you start in Ojai then you have tons of options, some are abandonment stuff, while others are just cool spots in general. Just keep in mind to plan for time, the trip from Ojai to Taft is a long part, but amazing stuff.

Lookin' into a little cycle trip. I had seen parts of this over the years, and then saw that it was a longer trip than I thought. I'll probably do it in smaller bits? Maybe 1/2 to start with?

Still planing it. But any info helps, thanks.

CR, you should actually come up to Bakersfield sometime and hang out =) We could even hit up some mines together! I rode out through the 33 and Ohai once, and in a truck several times. That area is gorgeous.

General rules:

Turn down ISO to eliminate image noise (I use about 200 or less).

ALWAYS use the manual "bulb" setting for full camera exposure control.

Use a remote or the camera timer to keep blur and camera movement to a minimum.

Don't forget your tri-pod.

You'll be light painting and shooting long exposures in no time (and its a lot of fun).

I hope this was helpful.
