Spotted E-Type Jag-u-are yesterday. They were pretty high-maintenance, what with tunable spoke wheels and electrics by Lucas, prince of darkness. The coupes were nowhere near as popular as the ragtop.

Hat to shoot thru the window. Busy dash.

I *actually* managed to get a Jag E-Type to start in the rain last month. Gorgeous car. Too bad that one is an automatic, that's just wrong.

I think getting *any* Jag to start, even if there's a *chance* of rain somewhere in your county, is a remarkable feat!!!

Anyone remember the movie where one of these split in half after a chase?

Oh I knew they were RWD -- but there were a LOT of shared styling cues. I had quite a few Cavaliers over the years lol.

Yea, great flick, thanks for reminding me.

Jag got destroyed racing a 440 challenger to a one-lane bridge The race started when the redneck in the Jag sidebashed the Challenger (driven by Barry Newman) and yelled "Ya got any BALLS in that mother?"......"Vanishing Point". Selected clips available on U-Tube.

Hay now!

1994 was the last REAL year for the Cavaliers. I had a 1990 in MINT shape. I traded it in in 99 on a Sunfire, and should have kept the Cavalier.

the 3rd gen cars weren't bad... the choice to go with the 2.3L Quad 4/2.4L Twin Cam was questionable at best. But after having a couple of 3100 (the replacement for the MPFI 3.1L), the 3100 just wasn't any fun.

I had the 2.4 in my 2002 -- the final year for that engine. As in the Fiero, the last year was the best year. GM had their shit together when they made the final year 2.4 engines -- dual balance shafts, Sequential Fuel Injection, etc etc. I loved mine. It had a ton of power and was awesome on gas!
I sold it with 130,000 km on it, and 5 years later it arrived back in my old hometown with 370,000 km on it, still running as strong as ever.
