I got to Opals between 2:45 and 3..no one was there..my Mate and kids were with me, they were going to drop me off and then pick me up..we almost got hit too! Stupid people in a white mini van/SUV looking thing, coming off of I35! I guess it was all the ACL craziness D: Also..There is a new guy named City Explorer that wants in on a meet-up..so I told him he can come to the next meet-up..He enjoys taking pictures, a photographer of sorts, should be lots of fun Everyone be careful and I'll see you guys in a few weeks!! He also joined the Forums..he's waiting out his week so he can come on and say Hi to everyone

I was sneaking into ACL during the last meet up but I miss exploring and plan on making the next meet. I also just recently found 2 really gnarly abandoned houses downtown. And an office building in north austin which is gonna be demolished.

I guess I should probably write something down here.

Heads up for everyone:

Apparently, they've implemented meters on Saturday, through midnight. (Which is a load of crap.) They've upped the maximum stay to 5 hours, but still.

I recommend finding a private, non-city-owned lot, where you can pay a set amount, and not have to worry about your car getting towed or ticketed.

I'll be doing this, so I may be a bit late.

Okay, so Bodecia and I were talking yesterday, since we were the only ones who made it. We're thinking downtown might not be the best place to meet, as attendance has been sparse to nonexistent the past couple months.

Since I live near Cedar Park, Bodecia in Round Rock, as is Harlan (about half the time), and Super and Cazy are up in Hutto, Round Rock may be the best place for the meet and greets.

It's central to Hutto/Taylor, Pflugerville, Austin, Jarrell, and Georgetown.

No more dealing with the parking meter/lot nonsense downtown Austin, and not having to deal with the football crowd.

The library would be a good place to meet - and there's a free parking garage about a block away. That, or Half Price Books, since they have chairs.

That is a great idea.

If we start meeting up in RR, I should be able to make it to the future meets with no problem, or little problem.. lol. Don't worry I haven't forgotten about UE.

Okay, so we are thinking of a meetup this weekend, possibly this Sunday, a few of you guys already sound like you are down for it.. Pizza n beer drain party seems to be a popular idea at the moment.

Anyways, we should find a time that we can all agree on, I am personally good for Sunday. This Saturday is a no go for me though.. Also next weekend is an option too in case too many people cant get some free time.

We do have an out of towner amongst us, up until the end of the month, so I was hoping we could get something going before said person departs.

Anyways, lets hear some ideas.

I definitely want to make it to this....problem is the next 2 sundays I'm working...gonna try and get off this sunday since I gotta be there at 6pm just in case we do it then but next sunday would be easier to make for me cuz I don't have to work till 10pm that night and could do the drain party before I have to go to work and still have time to clean up and whatnot if I can't get someone to cover my shift...preferably later in the afternoon though like around 3pm if possible cuz I work mostly nights and so I'm used to sleeping most of the day but any time works for me, i'll still make it.

I might actually be busy as well this sunday, but I'm pretty sure I could make it the following weekend. This would give more time to get people interested anyways.

I guess I should probably write something down here.

Unfortunately, I'm generally at work until 3 on most Sundays, so the earliest I'd be able to get downtown is 3:30-ish.

I'm up for a good, old-fashioned drain party, though.

Saturdays are awesome for me!! I will totally do a drain..it'll be my first one and i'm quite excited about it!! urm...Urbexinc has my number, so a txt or call at least a day b4 will be great!! Cazy..i think you have my number as well..if not..let me know I'll send it to ya! the reason I say this is that the easiest way to get a hold of me is by phone..lol, and as far as meeting in RR..we just thought it would be easier and less crap with traffic..gas has been my major issue..and though my mate has taken me down there a couple of times (he wants to meet some of you, for security and safety sake) even he was starting to get upset..lol..I haven't explored since the plant..and I definately have the itch...so yeah..lets get something planned and going! i'm uber excited about this!!! YAY..Drains!!, someone let this noob know what she needs I like to be prepared..just saying

If we do meet Saturday, a guy from Illinois may be joining us, because he's in town to visit me.

Would we meet at 'the usual place' or at 'the usual drain', or someplace new?

A decent flashlight, footwear that you are alright with getting completely submerged in dirty water, maybe extra socks.. or some of those rubber boots. That's really all you need, maybe extra batteries too, whatever else you feel like you would want in a dark wet tunnel.
