I make pretty things out of dead stuff.

| | | FYI- I went to the Olive Street houses and the house on Curve Street, and they're all boarded up. Got a few nice photos outside, but there's no way in. I was immediately hawk-eyed by an Austin Energy worker, and though he didn't ask me to leave, he stood there staring at me until I left. Afterward, I did happen across a place that looks perfect. It's right next to Whitaker field. Some of you might have been there before, but I wouldn't mind going. There's clearly an open gate and plenty of cover to get to and then over the fence (barbed wire on top). We'd have to dash from the fence to the door, though, because it's a wide open space, and a fair amount of traffic on 51st. Open door and broken window on site. Didn't see any No Trespassing signs. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

| Actually i realized I had time before work and before the sun went down to walk over there and check it out so i went for a little stroll lol I just took a little pocket camera with some crappy quality with me just because I didn't wanna walk over there with my big bulky camera in the heat so i definitely want to go back soon with anyone interested. Turns out it was a Texas Parks and Wildlife training center (which would also explain the white utility vehicles with lights on top I saw on google earth)...very recently abandoned too it looks like...and behind the buildings is a big obstacle course I guess they used for training. It's pretty interesting...was scared that there were sensors tho cuz I kept hearing a beep at repeating intervals but turned out to be a fire alarm still functioning. Also found a safe wide open, probably a gun safe and tons of suitcases spread around the place...also had an interesting conveyor belt in it going upstairs. Anyway here's the pics I got (didnt have time to upload and link from elsewhere): There were several other ways in other then the gate you were talking about and even that technically turned out not to be a way in...but I can't discuss the entries here on the forums (it's against forum rules and for good reason) But we can discus that via PM or if we meet up to go check it out.
