Anyone in SW Ohio know if LeSourdesville Lake (formerly Americana) is still standing? That place brings back lots of fun memories. Last I heard it was open, then closed, then open, then closed. Pics!

"This park is currently closed with no immediate plans to be reopened. The park closed after the 1999 season and was sold in 2000. It opened briefly in 2002 but closed unexpectedly before the end of the season. It has been closed since that time."

Yeah thanks, but sometimes the horse's mouth, or in this case, recent pictures, are a better resource than the intarwebz.

As of last year, it was still standing. Haven't been down that way in...well a year, so no idea about now.

Absolutely still standing. I just got permission to start commenting in forums and I've been dying to reply.
Our little group (based in W. Michigan) took a trip to Columbus to get a dog from what unfortunately turned out to be a puppy mill. On our way there, we ended up taking some detours into abandoned Ohio. We stopped by the Mongaloid House (their word choice, not ours) in Marion as well as the amusement park in Lesourdsville.

There are TWO amusement parks... one is this farm-themed little kids' park and the other is the old Americana. You can get around to the old one by going through the kids' one. We didn't hop the fence, though it would have been easy to, because there were so many cops around. If you follow the fence all the way around, you're basically following a track. If you climb down into the ravine, you'll find a swamp as well as a mangled train car from an accident at least 20 years old... hard to tell because of all the rust.

I'll get my friend's photos and post them in here sometime.

Parts of the amusement park are still there but the main roller coaster - the Screechin' Eagle - was demolished earlier this month. Also, the defunct amusement park next door - formerly known as "Fantasy Farm" - has undergone some renovations. Word has it the owner of LeSourdesville Lake is building a picnic park there and some of LeSourdesville's old rides have been moved there for this purpose.
