Hey everyone, I am new here (big surprise). I have always had a enormous interest in exploring places your not meant to but haven't had many chances to do so. Looking for others in the Salt Lake City area to join up with and see sweet spots with as I feel going solo is always a bad idea. I am 26 in the SLC valley and work for a local alt-magazine. Hope to meet fellow explorers soon. Thanks for letting me join in on the fun.

Hey all! Been a lurker here for quite awhile. Mostly because for some reason I could never post. In any event I have been into going into the places that I haven't been allowed for as long as I remember. Now that I am back in my city it's time to get back into the things I enjoy. Abandoned buildings, drains, and anything "off-limits" fits the bill. Hope to meet some of you on my adventures!

Hey everyone I've been lurking around the site for about a week or so. I'm sorta new to UE, my last expedition having been about 10 years ago, but I've always had a fascination with abandoned places. I'm originally from Cincinnati but I've since moved all over the country and currently reside in the DC area. I hope to get out again and share some pictures.

Hey everybody! I'm Kyle a UE from Texas currently going to school at Texas Tech University but my home is back in Frisco.

I just got into UE last semester, but didn't start actively doing it till my spring semester. It has always been something that has fascinated me, but I never really did any type of UE until I met a group here at Tech that does it.

Before urban exploring I was an avid backpacker, and I have been doing parkour for over a year now. I have tons of experience from scouting (Eagle Scout, woot!!) when it comes to going out there and trying new things.

I hope to add UE under my list of things I live for.

Hi everyone! I'm from just north of Houston.I'm an amateur photographer and love film photography and recently have begun collecting vintage cameras for it. Also work out at Texas Ren Fest during that time of year.

Went exploring out in Death Valley a several years ago with my uncle, who lives in California, to some of his regular spots out there. He showed me some of the abandoned mines and cabins out there.

Also recently checked out a saw mill I was told about. Most of the structures were abandoned due to their state and age. Most were early 1900s and falling were they stood, some looked about to collapse. Owner's son gave me permission the second time I was there, I'll be posting a thread on it soon.

I'm looking forward to more exploring already scouting out some other locations nearby I've heard about and seen!

Hello! I've been exploring and photographing for about 6 years now, just found this community and I'm very excited about it. I'm a Microbiologist and Plant Pathologist by trade, but abandonments are a big chunk of my hobbies. My name, subtilis, is actually a species of bacteria I studied for a while. It lives in the dirt and underground, and is hard as hell to kill. I'm from Central Mass and currently obtaining an education in Western Mass. Being from Montachusett area, abandoned factories are my tried and true, though i enjoy bridges and the subterranean world as well. I have tons of photos i want to share and I wonder if any of you guys are into film photography as well? I know digital is cheaper, and probably better, But nothing will ever make up for the smell of the darkroom and the enjoyment i get from hours spend developing, enlarging, and perfecting the pictures i took a few days before. Happy to be here!

Hey everyone, I'm Pylas.
I'm 23 years old from Melbourne Australia, I've been doing urban exploring on and off for the past 3 years and am currently thinking about getting into it full time. The main form of urban exploring which i do would have to be rooftops and drains, and I would like to start exploring abandoned buildings.

The setup which I plan to use is light and simple

Items in my backpack and on my persons:

2,000,000 candlepower spotlight
Dolphin Torch
Small L.E.D light
Spare batteries
Tea candles
Bottled water/Soft drink
Snack food
Notepad and pen
Disposable cameras
Digital Camera
Head lamp

I am looking forward to the weather clearing up a bit in the next few days to re-establish where I left off and get back into it, and I also look forward to getting to know you guys and girls as well.

Till our paths cross again
Pylas

I suggest that you jump on google maps and look along streams rivers and water catchments in your area for any drain openings, note them down then get out there with a friend and check it out.
