| | Sodo? < on 1/3/2011 6:35 PM >
| | | I was riding the light rail into Seattle yesterday and as I passed through Sodo I noticed quite a few run down buildings and boarded up windows... I'm not asking for specific locations, but does anyone know if Sodo is a good place to look around in?

| | | I'm not familiar with what you're talking about. Do they look like small shops or warehouses with nothing interesting to see, but heavily boarded up to keep squatters and drug users out, or something that looks like historical gem? We were walking through the international district and there was a lot of boarded up buildings, but most were uninteresting looking. Just a bunch of shops that closed their doors and stayed that way for years.

| | | I don't know about Sodo, but there were a few in Georgetown... not as many now, but some.

| | | Sodo is about as "abandoned" as Light Rail scenery gets, but no, none of that is explorable or more than a boarded up storefront like Deuterium said. The old Rainier Brewery, visible between Sodo and Beacon Hill stations, used to be abandoned but is now home to Tully's and commercial lofts. Keep looking around though!
