Look harder, I went two weeks ago and found five or six buildings that seem like not many people have found. They're not in as bad a shape as the one building left that everyone goes to.
|
Was there anything even left in those buildings? The only reason I wanted to check it out was because of the bathtubs and the room with the writing on the walls. But that's been torn down already.

| | | A lot of maintenance equipment mostly, generators and things like that. There's a room with a desk filled with stuff, empty pill bottles and such. Random chairs of course. But I believe the building with the tub room and writing is still there. They've chained up most of the doorways but you can still get in.

Hmmm...weird. I've only heard that it's gone. And I didn't see it where it was supposed to be. Oh well.

I haven't visited since 2008, but there were at least four of the original buildings not in use at the time. In 2009, the Psych Center on the grounds was closed too, so I might be interested in a return trip. There's also Newberry in the UP, but forget about exploring without permission: http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=56410

| | | Central State Insane Asylum in Indianapolis is a must-see. Tons of huge, old buildings that require multiple trips to fully explore. There's 5 miles of underground tunnels as well. Winona is another I want to go to, but is very hard to access. It is surrounded on all sides by houses and has cameras on some of the entrances. I know many people who have gone inside, though. Does anyone know more about Winona? [last edit 3/11/2011 3:48 PM by citrusleak - edited 1 times]

| | | Oh wow... this thread is still going. I went to Northville several months back, but no luck. We were going to get in, but a guy in a car from the road called the cops on us. Luckily, the cops were nice. And funny thing...when we were walking back to the car, we saw a sign that said something about "neighborhood watch". Yeah, I'd say so. And I've been in Riverside several times now. The old part of the hospital is pretty creepy.

| | | Posted by sunshinin There's also the Lima TB hospital which I visited not too long ago in Lima, Ohio. Just be careful of the bitchy neighbors. My favorite hospital, Ypsi State, was torn down a few years ago...
|
went out there around the same time... but we couldnt find the flippin hospital... went to where someone told us it was... and there was a big demolition job bein done... some painted wood fragments... and a huge plow thing... jealous you got in... we asked so many people and no one could give us an exact area
