Rosewood?

Hey all so don't worry I'm not asking location or point of entry or anything. I'm not far from Rosewood in MD and when I was planning to move up here I did research and found about the place. All the blogs and pictures I found showed it was easy to drive up and walk around taking pictures. However once I got here I saw all the entrances to the grounds were barricaded and there is a sign that says the road closed 2009. After driving by the place almost everyday at different times I've noticed it is very heavily guarded by security. So what I'm wondering is if anyone has visited since they closed the road? I'm wondering if I should bother attempting exploring this place or if it is a hopeless cause for an unstealthy person like me.

After a string of problems they bumped up security bigtime. If you arent a ninja might not be a good spot.

If it rusts I will find it

Says the man whose never done it.

Place used to be pie, but they have stepped up security big time. Ever since the Jewish School bought the property they closed down the roads and access to the property is kinda limited. There's no tunnel connecting any of the buildings, and they are pretty farly spaced out - you'll be out in the open 99% of the time.

I heard security is on top of their game, I haven't heard of anyone succeeding in over a year.

it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.

You can do it, so long as you're not from Jersey.

And if you are not stealthy, you may get arrested. Or shot.

Good luck!

Hey now.

Thanks for the replies I figured it was impossible, I didn't realize the Jewish school owned it now, I've heard a lot of rumors of different places wanting to buy it.

Yeah, there was also a ton of recent arson, and scrapping, etc, so I'll also throw in there that the place is many, many years past its prime. I personally wouldn't bother anymore.

A professional security team is there. Just glad to have visited it a couple times. All the doors and windows are sealed with plywood. They were put up last fall.

Not worth the hassle now.

Hey All,

What are the chances that current owner may grant access to take photos of the place? I've been contemplating of going to several locations but worry about the usual TS stuff. Has anyone tried asking for permission and what's generally good to say when attempting to get legitimate access (like say you're documenting for a history or photography project or maybe sign waiver that owner is not responsible for whatever happens to you while on the property)?

Thanks.

I agree with all of them. I wouldn't mess with it. Ive got a trespassing charge on my record because I went right after they heightened security.
