Seattle Newbie Here...

Downtown resident and explorer. Have done the Underground tour a couple of times--got to take friends when they visit from out of town. I always wonder what they don't show you on the tour...

I have been out to Ft. Warden and Ft. Casey numerous times and never tire of roaming around them. I would love to try Ft. Stevens sometime too. I heard the tales of the Tacoma Underground when I was living down there but never had a chance to follow-up on anything but, the the town seems like it has a lot of potential.

Always looking for somewhere new to explore/photograph whether it's urban or rural.

I hear Pike and Pine is Seattle's lively new urban exploration zone.

I'm sorry I shouldn't be such an ass hat. There have been a lot of demolition permits granted in the south lake union area lately.
Hey, and welcome to the forum.

Not much from the abandonment POV, but if you are open minded enough to be curious about construction sites, cranes, drains, and transit tunnels, there should be plenty to see.

I joined this forum thinking I would be able to find others interested in exploring/photographing abandoned sites, tunnels, maybe the cooling towers in Satsop, etc. Look's like I was wrong...

Sorry dude, it takes time to build trust and community on the forums.

I really don't think that Junix was being a dick to you, gasworks is on par with exploring places like Ft. Warden and the underground tour.

A lot of folks here keep the places that they explore to them selves. Because you know, loose lips sink ships. And this is sort of an illegal hobby.

And people on the west coast have at least 10% of hate. You know what I'm talking about. Its in the water or something..

I highly recommend finding people to explore with (friends, meet 'n greets, etc) and take a few pics of some of the places you've been to.

One of the requirements I have for obtaining full membership, is to be very active on the forums, contribute stuff to the community, and know a few people.

It's not just about places we've been to, but also the majority of it is based on trust. Can we really trust you, or are you here to steal sites for rave parties (has happened in the past)?

If this hobby is for you, then pursue it with all you got and become good in it. Don't give up because of one member (out of 30,000 plus members...).

Good luck!

Because you already knew about it?

It's pretty above par for sites in seattle proper. ESP if the 'underground tour' holds interest for you. Trenches around buildings that could not afford to raise their entrances when the city filled in the streets...

Also, the thread about Satsop is right next to this post for people who can see it.
