Chain link is bent wire, like a paper clip.

You can unbend a paperclip.

You can bend an unbent paperclip back into a paperclip (depends on how much effort you put into making it perfect)

Same goes for chain link. The individual vertical wires can be unthreaded and it creates an opening like if the fence had been cut. The difference is, unwoven chainlink fence can easily and quickly be put back like new when you leave.

The wire naturally preserves it's original bends so the less you mess with it while unweaving it, the better it looks when you leave. It is everywhere, find some and practice. Railroad chainlink is a thicker gage and possibly a different material, but all others I can do by hand now.

I've walked into a gravel works tunnel system before. Its pretty interesting especially where the tunnels change levels. A conveyor brought the gravel down from the hill back in the day. Not sure how it works now but IDK if they still use conveyors for that as all the gravel quarrys I have seen abandoned the old conveyor tunnels.

looks like there are some tight fits. try wiggling through things. sneak in at night and use a car jack to widen any crack just ever so slightly
