Hey I'm new to posting on this site but I've been lurking on it for awhile. I'm in Eastern Washington and we don't have all that much as far as abandonments goes. So far anything I've though might be interesting has either been renovated or torn down all together. Last time i was in Seattle me and a few friends went and looked around the tunnels under UW and mapped it out for the most part but didn't get to go in due to lack of time. I do want to find something closer since my last successful outing was an old farm in Northern California. Anyway I am wondering if anyone who lives in the WA, ID, OR area wants to meet up and check some places out since I'm not having the best luck. Driving really isn't an issue, or if anyone wants to hint me in the right direction I would be pretty grateful.

hi! welcome! glad you stopped lurking and started posting the NW needs more in the way of active posters.

as for abandonments in E Wash, there may be quite a lot more than you realize. the rural type of abandonment is not uncommon, and you'll find a lot of fun spots around Spokane. there are some silos and the like out that way too.

i'm not out that way myself or i'd be more specific -- but perhaps others will weigh in on this.

I am more than willing to venture out with the fellow NW crew! Driving for me as well in not a problem, just a time and a place. I do work MON-FRI but i think we should all plan something in the very near future! Anyone else down..

ldm, I'm pretty sure that's an old mine head since the surrounding area is cut into hard rock. I've passed that by several times but never had time to stop, you should go check out the Finley area along what used to be called Chemical Drive.

never know until you go

Welcome! Check this out. In Kennewick, there's an old mill over by the tracks. It's on Clearwater by the McDonald's. Might be worth a look.

Anything in Eastern WA will have to be a weekend thing for sure. The weather is getting too nice for us to be "All Talk" i say we make the other UE locations jealous and have a bitchin' summer of UE in the PACNW!

Yeah the weather is definitely too nice not to go out. I've thought about that mill and its owned by general mills but as far as I know it is still in use. A couple weeks ago I did go down and check out the CGG grain elevator down by the cable bridge in Kennewick one night. It was pretty interesting and I'm planning on going back soon when it is a bit warmer at night.

Okay, I think I know the place you're talking about. Might be fun. I may have to look at it myself.

*soddenly stops lurking*

I live in kennewick aswell and its really slim pickings here, all the grain evaders are still in use. i have been to the mine head to, and i think you could repel in from the top, there is a nice big hole and spots to tie off ropes but besides that it would be hard to get in with out just riping off bored from the side of it and making a way in(i'm not really cool with doing that tho).

There is an old boat factory in north richland that was condemned for asbestos, i have been there a few times, never inside tho, they have it buttoned up tight, and never had the nerve to try picking the locks for more that a few seconds sence there is a rent a cop that drives around out there, the roof is a nice place to hangout if you are really bored tho.

I have found an old abandoned motel in the woods right before you enter into colombia park that i have been meaning to poke around in...but kennewick is kinda scary at night by yourself

If there is a meet i am in for just about anything, we really need to get something started on this side of the state, i have two more people that would be in to if something cool went down aswell.

Okay we need to get this going, i think most of us can't really think of a good UE places to meet up at so lets start a little smaller, how about we meet at a restaurant, like applebees in richland, say next saturday night and do some planing and and work out some ideas.

I went to Washington State University over the last year. They have a science hall that they are planning on demolishing on campus (troy hall). also they have extensive steam tunnels that me and a buddy had explored over the last semester. alot of the tunnel entrances are locked or in very conspicuous places, but if anyone would want the entrance points that i used i could give them up to anyone who wants them. also there are alot of abandoned grain elevators as well as an abandoned house a couple miles before heading into Colfax from the west.
