| | | I'm getting a group together for Worley's Cave (near Johnson City, TN) this Saturday if anyone wants to come? It's a natural cave. Nothing much urban about it, I guess. It's totally legit too.

| | | People in KY have been staying out of Caves this year due to White Nose Syndrome. Are y'all taking any precautions against that? Have fun, wish I could join!

| | | We had a biologist come give a speech here at school about white nose syndrome, and his conclusion was that we may run out of bats in a few years.

| | | I hadn't heard of that. I just looked it up. According to Wikipedia it hasn't been found in Tennessee?

| | | If you are worried about it, check with your local grotto, they should have more info. The biggest thing is to not where the same clothes that you have worn in a cave earlier this year. Other than that, you should be good to go!

| | | If anyone is passing through the Berea/Lexington area, I might be interested in going, but apart from that, my college doesn't allow me to have my car on campus right now.

| | | Worley's is definitely a fun experience, Make sure you have at least one experienced caver on the trip. There are sections where you can most definitely get trapped and/or hurt.

As long as it's your first cave, you can't possibly have white nose syndrome. Also, if the cave you're going to already has it, you can't spread it to that cave. Both of these are probably common sense, but that is often what is needed around paranoia.

| | | White Nose hasn't been found in TN yet, which is why there have been precautions published. Apply the fact that most spelunkers from the affected areas will be traveling to those in which they can indulge in their hobby, the spread of it is very possible.
