It's good to be prepared. Good tools make the man.
There's nothing wrong with having a reasonable BOB in your car and some "shelter in place" gear at work.
Posted by AnAppleSnail I really do agree with most of the EDC people that I meet in real life, but then there are the Internet Special Forces. Having reliable tools for likely situations is great. I can't stay out of tunnels, vacant buildings, and other dark places - so I carry a cheap LED light. But the people who pack a survival knife along to work are a bit odd. That's less likely to be used, and unlikely to be missed (unless you would miss having your 8" knife around, of course). I'm nearly guilty of the utility b elt effect because I carry a multitool and flashlight. But for a grin, imagine an office worker showing up with some of the lists in the bugout bag section...
