| | | Or, we could just pay for our food like most people do without stealing.... |
Or if we want to be cheap we can all do it freegan style. Delicious recovered food from grocery store trash. It's not technically stealing. More like, uh, recycling I guess?
Just sleep in an abandonment. |
In a decent sized group with the right gear (it's going to be winter, after all... it gets pretty chilly at night), that'd be viable. But my sleeping bag, despite being "rated" to 10 degrees... is not worthy of being used in mid-December/early January. So hotel or couch it is for me. I'm willing to share a hotel room with somebody, or multiple somebodies. As for drunken escapades... if you break shit while drunk, don't get drunk somewhere that potentially breakable items are not your own. Having a little responsibility isn't *that* hard, is it? I'm not against drinking, just people getting way too drunk who know that they're destructive/annoying/jerk drunks. For locations... I know DJCraig and Coley had a freakin' awesome time in Atlanta this year. So for a more southerly location, that might be nice. Honestly I don't know much about Louisville, but I'll likely be stoked to go wherever. What makes Louisville appealing? Or any of the others. Who has some major selling points for any of the previously mentioned cities and feels like sharing?

| | | Posted by CaveDave Cincinnati is right across the river from Louisville. If the meet up was there, then we could hop across the bridge and be right there.
|
Cincinnati is an hour and a half from Louisville.
Roanoke, VA, has a lot of stuff too now that I think about it.

| | | I vote for DC. Lots of good stuff there. Especially in Anacostia. Plus, you've got Balto right around the corner and Richmond down a ways if you want to spread it out. You'd be best served to camp somewhere in Western Maryland/Northern Virginia because DC proper is a zoo. Louisville/Cincinnati is a close second as well. That place is recockulous. And no, I won't go away. I've been here a long time, a lot longer than you. Welcome to exploring, noob. Try not to let your thievery and your vandalism shed too much light on our hobby that doesn't need a spotlight on it at the moment. I'll go down for trespassing in a heartbeat before I will for theft or vandalism. Oh wait, it's art. I forgot.

That it does. I would definitely be down for this. My family has a small home within 30 minutes of Roanoke.

| | | Four pretty cool lookin drains there, from what I've seen on VT Underground, a really cool railroad museum, at least two downtown buildings empty when I was last there and I'm sure quite a bit more that I don't know about.

| | | We should do it over new years weekend. Traffic will be horrendous but wherever we choose to go, the amount of civilians and tourists in the area should provide excellent cover.

| | | If you do Louisville, Cincinnati isn't all that far away (1-1.5 hrs), and I know it has a lot to offer. Indinapolis isn't too far either IIRC. Lexington isn't all that far from Lousiville either, but no idea what it has to offer.

I'm sorry; I counted the cities that had been suggested by at least 2 people before I opened the thread. If I go back and change it now I'm afraid it'll get really messy with people wanting to change their votes and add more cities.

YES Cincinnati has a ton. As does Dayton, also somewhat nearby.

| | | Well then just cast your vote here and we will add them up. It really doesn't matter how many cities are suggested. High vote count wins.
