| | | Posted by NinjaKlutz Drains. On the maps, everything is 200mm unless otherwise noted. On old maps, sometimes large drains and san sewers are labeled in feet. On most maps, and all new maps, the big walkable drains are labeled in millimetres. (>800mm=backbreaker, 1100+= walkable). So look for drains that have really big numbers attached. First#=height, 2nd#=width. Scour the maps. There's more than what meets the eye. There's even one drain that branches off 5 times. And no, I haven't done that drain yet. (nudge, nudge, wink, wink).

| | | Okay. So maybe I was being a bit judgemental, especially given that I've never laid eyes on the man. For all I know, he could be a strapping 6'6", 240 lbs of lean muscle UE machine. I mean...anything is possible. I say these things in jest...er, I say these things because, well...why not? Wraiths Dude...if you're reading this, please know that I wish you no ill will, you're a lovely person, and you are extremely professional re: urban exploring. I mean that: he's professional, and anyone who's interested in a fun UE experience, Dude's got his shit wired tight. But he spent a fair amount of time busting my balls over THIS project, which is fair, but I do not recall ever seeing him anywhere near any of the expeditions the GCG crew undertook. But so what? Anyhoo...

| | | For anyone interested, there is a course being offered this November HERE IN VICTORIA, which is handy (because, depending on demand, it is 2 times a year, in changing locations), where you can become a CERTIFIED SEWER WORKER. The course is 660$, which may sound expensive, but for those going into the underground services/shit crawling profession, this course sounds pretty damn useful. And for Urbexers.....it is an opportunity to learn about the engineering, construction, maintenance, mathematics, and lift stations/machinery of storm drains/sewers.....not to mention a whole ton on Underground Safety, covering things such as lone worker, lockout, and dealing with underground emergencies. PM me for more info.

| The price sounds quite reasonable. I checked it out, and the training is quite extensive. Looks like a great course. I'm very tempted, and may still sign up, even though I can't slither through the tunnelz like you young people. I will PM (Power Module) you for more info. Not a big deal, but when contacting the office, they did say there is an additional administration charge of 6.00 for, well, administration. A minor detail, so just go for it.

| | | Posted by KublaKhan Wraiths...? Inconsequential. A mere sidebar to what is otherwise a ridiculous saga re: a dwarfish ninja fond of 2 way radios, secret code words and grappling hooks. A wee Napoleonic figure dressed in ninja jammies. Something like that. Never met the dude, but he used to visit UER to offer scathing remarks about anything that offended his UE sensibilities. He's banned from UER now.
| Ahhh KK, you may want to brush up on your information, it seems you don't know what you think you know... but I suppose you're used to that eh? Anyways, KK, have you found the secret satanic lair yet or just the sewer? The sewers you've found are cool, but I was kind of hoping for some altars or photos of some robed figures dashing away from the scene of a sacrifice... but dancing is pretty much the same I guess... Posted by SteamPunk He is not.... In fact, after meeting me...he hates them. HATES. THEM.
| wrong, I like two ways, just when needed, not as a way of life. I was probably the first person on UER extolling the virtues of using them while exploring... They just aren't a separate hobby of mine.

| HOLY JEEBUS...it's the man himself. I am speechless. Fortunately, this is teh interweb, and speech isn't a pre-requisite. I know you've been lurking around off and on over the months. I'm just surprized that you condescended to visit this thread, given that you're generally busy coiling/uncoiling your lines/climbing gear, and performing necessary functions viz. clandestine intrusions, etc. I look forward to your biting analysis and critical observations. Anyways, KK, have you found the secret satanic lair yet or just the sewer? | Indeed. Found them, and joined their ranks, which now prevents me from discussing this further. And yes...I took hundreds of photographs, but by some strange force of unholy nature, none of them came out. I even sent them to a special lab (location classified), but even they were unable to clarify and/or sharpen the image. I blame Lord Rick. Anyhoo Jester old chap. Glad to see you still find time within your frantic schedule to drop by. Let me know if you ever plan on revealing yourself (I assume your cloaking devise is working properly again) and I'll happily join you on one of your outstanding adventures. Love always, KublaKhan

| I feel like such a troll. A way of life? No, not for me either, you have just seen me while i was discovering new aspects of radio, i get giddy like a kid in chem class who just discovered how to make acid. Radio is just another tool. You wouldn't believe what i can do now, my last job taught me too much. Intel tool. I need to be careful.....knowing how to decode data, and digital modes ..well ....these are strange days. Radio is a very important to me, because it is a very useful tool, if you know how to use it, but it's not my life. It's fun to abuse too.

| I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too! |

| | | That's a cool book. You can find a lot of artifacts everywhere around town. The old HBC butchery was built on top of a very large midden and you can still go there and get deer skulls, arrow points and neatly cut cow bones. Its an interesting mingling of remains. Unfortunately the location got burned and they filled in the nice big hole that let you see 300 years back in time. Here are some shots from last night's excursion under the garden city. NK descending. Such beautiful root systems! Taking a break Thanks for the exploration NinjaKlutz.
