I might make it Can't make it Leave a comment? Details There have been numerous fantastic adventures for Clocktoberfest over the years. One year there was a mass of people rappelling down a hundred-foot mine shaft to explore a maze of tunnels. Another year people brought inflatable rafts into a giant flooded mine. A nearby abandoned army depot is consistently fun for explorer groups. Heck, last year we even explored a vacant casino river boat! The half-naked cavemen drunken bonfire in the mud and rain was a highlight for a lot of folks two years ago, so who knows what the weather may give us. Although the specific exploring events change from year to year, the general format of Saturday night party and Pits Cave expedition have remained the same for every Clocktoberfest. The location is at a farm (with a big red barn) off Blackjack Road in Galena, Illinois. You drive onto the property, go up the hill past the barn, and when you are in the big clearing at the top, you will be in the land of campfires and tents. I don't provide anything, so you'll need to bring your own tent, camping equipment, chairs, food, booze, and exploring gear. The farmhouse used to have running water and toilet/shower facilities. Unfortunately, over the years it became more degraded, water damaged, and ruined, so it's no longer suitable for such things. I'm sorry there are no toilet facilities on site. Plan to drive to Walmart or gas stations for pooping needs. You must pack out all your trash. Do not throw garbage or broken bottles into the bonfire. I'll stab you if you do that. Fireworks should be kept to moderation, as the neighbors got furious with us last year. LoL...
